Lovesick? More like Sick of Love!

Me and my big mouth wants to wish all my delightful blog-readers a very Happy Tuesday! Yup, it's just another day to live. If you guys remember my "Birthday Hater" post then this should be no different. Why can't we all love each other a bit more everyday instead of making a holiday out of it in the middle of February?

That's mostly it. I've got a class in 30 minutes and I can't think straight due to this monster of a headache.

I'm literally lovesick today. Fever, I guess, from a weakened immune system from stress, and humidity.

Somersault

Me and my big mouth wishes everyone a Happy and Prosperous 2012! Besides the possible, yet improbable rapture, a new number to type after every date in a paper, and the last twelfth second of the twelfth minute of the twelfth hour of the twelfth day of the twelfth month of the twelfth year of the millennium, it's just another year... in which I use all the reasons I've stated above to motivate myself to do better than the last year. By the way, is the world "twelfth" sounding weird to you?

It's just another year. I'm still working my novel but I'm having a slight writer's block for the soundtrack.

It's just another year. I'm still finding a vocalist to collaborate with, if I could only find time to find a vocalist, if only I could find inspiration to find time to find a vocalist...

It's just another year. Who am I kidding? It's just another DAY.

WARNING: RAPID CHANGE OF TOPIC.

So yeah, I got myself into a ballroom class this semester and was really unsure at first.

But I realized it was the BEST and MOST FUN P.E. class I ever entered. I thank my dad for suggesting it due to its future applications. After all, I am the "hold-your-cup-and-sip-in-the-corner-while-everyone-enjoys-themselves kinda guy."

I guess one of the factors that got me going is my default skill in dancing which was honed by some of my classmates back then in high school as well curricular requirements back then as well as my dad who got a ballroom instructor to teach him and my mom to dance during his 65th birthday. That instructor gave a free-for-all crash course in the rudimentary skills of ballroom dance.

Another one would be the inclination to music and rhythms. From toe-tapping and hand-drumming, to imaginary drum-playing, I usually do them to exercise my arms (yeah, right...) and well, make a fool of myself while enjoying the music (that's better).

Lastly, would be my memory. I remember things quite fast. As I recall, i had a one-week leave of absence so I missed a couple of sessions. I instantly caught up and our couple even got an A. Seriously, even I was shocked!

Plus, dancing is one of the few physical activities I have (next to golf) in which I never feel exhausted doing. I love the music enough to coordinate with it through my movements. It goes to the point where you don't really think about what you're doing because you already know it.

I recall back in my heart-struck has-been days where I would imagine dancing with someone you love because it's like you see the two of you in a whole different light. Two people create something only they can fantasize; they visualize their love through dance. Ballroom dancing basically illustrates the entire relationship. From inviting your partner to the dance floor, to directing her the steps, to escorting the maid back and setting her free from your grasp. It's something more than romantic. It's something I wanna feel again.

This song has been waltzing in my head for quite some time. It describes the perfect relationship.

I Love Her

Me and my big mouth are back with the lovey-dovey experiments of Loveratory. Let me see... who am I to say that I'm a guy who's in love? I love her. Am I to be tormented forever by this fact? I love her. Is it too one-sided of me to say this when she might not even know of my existence? I love her. Does the repetition of those three words make me sound obsessed? I love her. Why am I telling you all of these things? I love her.

Love is something mutual, is it not? It's kinda weird saying I love you 'coz it always means you're expecting love back. When we feel that light, heavenly, chemically-induced cloud nine, we automatically link it with love; not that I have anything against that. It's just that the expectations that come with this "love" double the pain one receives upon losing it. It's like someone on drugs; the feeling of being in love is addicting and hard to get rid of once it is in full effect. There's a solution however.

Being in love is different from loving. When you're in love with someone, it means both of the individuals engage in this love, since both of you are "in (the mutual feeling of) love." When it's only one side of the sentimentally-scarring romantic tragedy, no matter how many times you say you are in love, it will never happen... unless, one of the individuals start loving. When one gives love for the sake of the other giving love back, it's a self-sustaining fire that just keeps on burning. That fire will first burn with passion; wild and uncontrollable. It will then settle down and blaze constantly when the love is mutual, stable, and secure.

Though I am aware of all this, I'm still stuck loving her when I won't even know if she loves me back. Call me a coward, but I'd rather fancy our friendship. Better to light up the campfire with a match, than with a gallon of kerosene and a blowtorch, know what I'm saying? Anyway, with the knowledge I have shared with you today, I will keep myself engaged in love to be more productive and optimistic in life. Because of my first hypothetical lovelife, I made music, and because of my first hypothetical downfall, I matured my music with passion. And now that I keep that steady fire of love burning, I discovered blogging and acting. Yes, I am in love, with "the night" (previous blog). I love her. She don't care if I love or die, that is why I love her...

Lyrics:

I look at her
Just to see
Is there anything in there
For me
If you look at her
Do you see
Is there anything in there
For me

I love her
I love love her
She don’t care if I live or die
That is why
I love her

So don’t talk to me
Don’t talk to me
There’s so little I can say when I
Feel this way
So don’t talk to me
Don’t talk to me
There’s very little I can sey when I
Feel this way

I love her
I love love her
She don’t care if I live or die
That is why
I love her

In Love With The Night...

"I am in love with the night."

"The night is as beautiful as the absence of light."

"Am I too dark to say such words?"

"When words are not what I mean tonight."

"Tonight I love the scent of day."

"The day of summer wasting away."

"Away until there is nothing left."

"Nothing but the night and the words I say."

"Say nothing to me, my gentle night."

"I don't hear a word but your silence is right."

"Maybe I should not be in love with the dark."

"The dark that tempts me towards the light."

"Yet I am still in love with the day."

"The day my night comes back to stay."

"To stay in the dark, and bring back the spark."

"You are the night I speak of today."

All of this coming from me and my big mouth looking out the window.
Wherever you are my beautiful night, I love you as I take in the view every night...

Love Vs. Relationship

Me and my big mouth tackle more pressing issues, love. Love leads to relationships like a spark which gives birth to fire. But what are the risks that we put ourselves into besides getting ourselves burned if we play with fire?

People love each other for the sake of love itself. This love over time creates the relationship; that hidden place all lovers create, that forbidden space where differences relate (if you wanna put it poetically). To preserve this relationship however, both individuals give parts of their self away. Here we see love is a self-sacrifice for the benefit of both persons' growth and development.

There is that common tendency for lovers to totally forget about themselves to keep a relationship alive; giving too much without taking what one needs in order to give once more. They forget to eat, sleep, prioritize, think, decide, act, and so on. They are at the mercy of love by completely surrendering themselves for the relationship. Thus, the balance of the two is important. You always come before love.

If love was a ball of yarn that unraveled while the lovers parted to remember themselves again, the lovers can always collect the yarn by gathering it again; retracing its path to find out where it had gone wrong and why it unraveled, to start anew.

If love was a spider web woven by two spiders who took a break from spinning web, it is easily damaged. Yet if the spiders are determined enough, they would continue to spin web until the web is as strong as ever, sacrificing their strength to do so.

If love was love itself made by two people who believe in its power, they would use it to care for each other so that the sacrifice they make will be the gift they receive.

If love was a blog made by me and my big mouth, it would be useless to post... for the author has never experienced it yet. The author still has hope however that the balance between those who have loved in this world, and those who have loved and lost will serve as a reminder that love is a game... a game the human race just can't get enough of.

I'll leave you with this song from Icelandic singer, Bjork, which is a direct reference for one of the statements shown above.

Lyrics:

While you are away
My heart comes undone
Slowly unravels
In a ball of yarn
The devil collects it
With a grin
Our love
In a ball of yarn
He'll never return it
So when you come back
We'll have to make new love
